The article I choice I found to be very interesting, which is the biggest reason why I choice it. If you read the article you will learn, that 291 of the fresh water streams in the United States that were tested, all the fish living in them are contaminated with mercury. That is so awful, especially for the animals and humans that are eating these fishes.
I found this to be a good article because it's very interesting, informative, and clear to the point it was making. It even gave information about mercury in case the audience didn't know enough about it. It also gave information about the research that has been going on concerning the mercury in the fish. This is very important to us because if we are eating these contaminated fishes then we could possibly run into health issues with our own bodies and even our future children.

Mercury is one of the most unknown but dangerous chemicals that we (unknowingly) put into our bodies. I, too, thought the author did a good job in breaking down where the waters were most contaminated and what exact dangers mercury poses. I do wish, however, that the author could have explained better exactly why mercury is more dangerous to children than to adults, and what fishes are less apt to contain high levels of mercury (there are differences - farm raised fish tend to be lower).
ReplyDeleteI think this article is very interesting because it shows how harmful mercury is in the human body. Since I am breastfeeding my baby I cannot eat tuna or any kind of fish with high levels of mercury so reading this article was really eye-opening. I also think that this article is quite revealing because it states that 100% of the examined fish had very high levels of mercury.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to this, the article includes testimonies and accurate information on the subject which contributes with the article’s credibility.
